課程概述 |
This course will introduce students to the art and craft of director’s work, covering significant figures in the history of directing as well as various approaches and methods. In addition, our focus will be on the director’s craft, beginning with a non-verbal approach to stage composition, and progressing to more formal text analysis work, the various directing exercises culminate in the direction of a ten-minute play for public performance. |

課程目標 |
● Learn how to prepare for the rehearsal process, and work with actors in staging a play.
● Use script analysis tools to articulate directing approaches to plays
● Discuss the mechanics of directing actors (stage pictures, strong and weak stage positions, blocking dynamics)
● Write a reasoned critique of a director’s work after observing a rehearsal process |
